The Central Council of Indian Medicine instituted Hakim Ajmal Khan Award Fund in 2014 to perpetuate his memory to recognize the best talents in the field of Unani. “The Fund” is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860. “The Fund” invites nominations in respect of Statesmanship of the Highest Order of our country in the field of Unani, Eminent Person in Unani Science, Eminent Unani Teachers, as provided under the Memorandum of Association of the Society. The Award is of the value of Rs.1,00,000/- and a Medal for their outstanding service in the field of Unani.

Nominations forwarded through the respective Chief Minister, Chancellor or Vice Chancellor of Universities, Head of the Institutions, Director viz CCRUM etc., Deans of the Faculty of Unani National Organisations of the Profession, Member of the Central Council of Indian Medicine etc., along with brief reasons for making such recommendations should be set out by the person concerned. Special priority in making the Award shall be accorded to the objectives of granting an award to a Unani Medical man-cum-Statesman, Eminent Person in Unani Science, Eminent Unani Teachers, a person of nationwide eminence and popularity and who has contributed a great deal of service to the nation in different spheres of activities in Unani.

The nomination should be supported by the following: –
1. 30 copies of Curriculum vitae of the candidate and full address of communication.
2. A statement of the work, achievement, accomplishment or performance on which the claim to the award is based.
3. One set of publications.
4. A reasoned justification for the nomination.
5. Consent of nominee.

The Nominee should not be related either by blood, marriage or adoption to the person making the nomination provided that such a person has not played any direct part in the nominee’s work.

One person shall be eligible to make one nomination only. Indian national are eligible for the award.

The nomination should make it clear, the category under which it is to be considered. The nomination may be sent in a sealed cover marked ‘confidential’ addressed to the Secretary, Hakim Ajmal Khan Award, office of the Central Council of Indian Medicine, 61-65 Institutional Area, Janakpuri, New Delhi – 110058 by 31st March, 2016. The day and date of award distribution will be decided by Central Council from time to time.
